What is Identity?

In my own understanding, identity is the distinct personality of an individual regarded as a persisting entity or individuality.

Seeing Straight

The eagle can see four to eight times better then human beings. But an eagle can't move it's eyes in their sockets. That means it has to turn it's whole head to look around.

Cold hard Facts

Metal often feels cold when you touch it, but it is not colder than it's surroundings. Many metals are good heat conductors, so they "pull" heat from your hands. The cold you feel isn't the cold of the metal, but of your hand losing heat.

My Essay About Islam, Hajj and Ramadan

Posted by Mharj Malanog at 1:45 AM 0 comments
For me, Islam is the common religion of all people in Middle East and in many places in Africans. This also the religion of many people in Indonesia, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan. This was built by Mohammed. They called him Prophet because he is the one who speaks to muslim people about the ways of believing that "Allah" had showed to him. "Muslim" is what we called to all people who had an Islam religion. Muslims believed in one God in which they called "Allah". They also have aholybook which is "Koran" or "Quran" in english and Ramadan is the muslim's important celebration in which they don't eat within one month. It's the nineth month of the calendar of all muslims. They do this from day to night. They control theirselves not to drink, smoke, think bad, or even to do what they want. They can only eat before the sun shines and after it sets. All muslims believe that when they do this, they are deserving to Allah. They also believed that praying is the way of talking to Allah and Hajj is what we call to those muslims who already gone in Mecca and they are the most praised one among all muslims.

My Answer In Activity No.2

1.)Hajj or pilgrimage to Mecca is one of the five pillars of Islam. Hajj was made obligatory in the 9th year of Hijra. The Holy Prophet sent off 300 Muslims under the leadership of Hazrat Abubakr Siddique (may Allah be pleased with him) to Mecca so that they could perform Hajj. That was the year when it was banned for the Mushrikeen (those who associate partners with Allah) to enter Ka’ba. It was also made unlawful to perform Tawaaf (circling of Ka’ba) with naked body.
"The Truth about Islam" has been called the "best, short introduction to Islam" and has been published in Foreign Affairs.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the most sacred of the twelve months. The name Ramadan derives from the Arabic word for intense heat and sun-scorched ground. 2.) Islam teaches us that this life is a life of worship. We are placed on this earth in order to worship Allah and obey His command. During this earthly life we are subjected to a series of trials. We have the option of enduring these trials and conforming to certain laws, and our reward will be great in the next life, or we may decline to endure these trials and choose to not conform to the law, then we will be made to regret it in the next life.
Each person will be solely and completely responsible for their own final reward. We are also told that God has designed these laws to make this life a better, safer, and more tolerable one for us. If we elect to conform to them then we will see the result in this life even before moving on to the next.

Can We Really Sense If Someone Is Staring At Us?

Posted by Mharj Malanog at 8:29 PM 0 comments

It would seem that many of us can, according to research by Cambridge University Biologist Rypert Sheldrake. "I've conducted more than 20,00 trials, and the results show over and over again that most people know when they are being looked at from behind-even if they're blindfolded," says Sheldrake.

Just For You

Posted by Mharj Malanog at 11:14 PM 0 comments

Everytime I see you

My heart beats faster

I don't know but it's

Just only for you

This feeling that I can't explain

Everytime I can't see you

Every minute, my eyes wanting you

Just for you to know

I found that...

I can't live without you

knowing that I'm in love

Only just for you.

Do Goldfish Really Have A Ten-Second Memory?

Posted by Mharj Malanog at 11:12 PM 0 comments

"Goldfish can recognize and remember their owners or keepers", says London Aquarium Aquarist Luke Rosser, like a dog "man's best-friend". The reason is, they'll swim to the surface expecting food when the owner approached the tank. They also disoriented if you rearrange the objects or plants around them", in addtion of Rossser's researched.
Research at the University of Utrecht in Holland supports Rosser's view, finding that carp-close relatives of the gold fish-will avoid a particularly bait. Once caught with it, for a year or more.

Does Reading In The Dark Harm Your Eyesight?

Posted by Mharj Malanog at 10:53 PM 0 comments

"There is no evidence that reading in the dark causes damaged", says opthalmologist William Chua from the University of Sydney. "But it does make it tough to see the words as the eye relies on light to work". An eye receives light and sends it through the optic nerve to the visual centre in the brain. This structure means there is no such things as overuse. While reading in poor light can cause eye strain, it is easily cured with rest.

Which Came First? The Chicken or the Egg?

Posted by Mharj Malanog at 10:41 PM 0 comments

The egg. The modern chicken is generally believed to be a "descendant" of Archaeopteryx, the oldest known bird. This 150-million-year old resident of the Jurassic Period laid eggs and at some point evolved into an animal that was one generation away from being a proper chicken. This creature would have produced the egg of which the first chicken emerged. Therefore, the egg came first.

I always prefer to chat with my friends and do some naughty things to them rather than to sit alone in my chair because it will just seem so "weird" that anyone could say that you have your own world.I also prefer to spend my vacant time in texting, writing some quotes and by reading some interesting books. This are just to make myself busy.
